Important of Dincharya in Ayurveda

Ayurveda is the eternal science of life. The goal of Ayurveda is :-

(to maintain the health of a healthy person and to cure the disease of a diseased person.)

To achieve one such goal of maintaining the health, Dincharya is very important.

DINCHARYA

Dincharya means daily routine. Dincharya provides an outline of the daily routine to follow for having a healthy body and mind.

Below are some pactices that Dincharya promotes for a healthy lifestyle and body.

1. Wake up early in the morning
  • One should wake up before the sunrise.
  • Sunrise varies in different seasons. The time between 4:30 – 5:30 am is considered to be an ideal time to wake up . It is very good time to wake up which gives certain amount of peace and freshness to body and soul.
  • Look at your hands for few moments after waking. Rub them on your face.
  • Before leaving the bed say a prayer. Touch the floor, then forehead. It gives respect and love to earth.
2. Rinse
  • Wash your face and rinse out your mouth with fresh water.
  • Wash your eyes blink your eyes atleast 7 times and rotate the eyes in all directions.
3. Drink Water
  • Ayurveda recommends the consumption of luke warm water. It enhances the peristalsis, cleanses the kidneys
4. Evacuation
  • It is one of the most important pillar of health.
  • Delayed or not regular slows down the digestion and causes constipation which give rise to many problems.
5. Brushing Teeth And Scraps Your Tongue Gently
  • The traditional indian tooth brush “ Neem Stick” can be used for brushing teeth or prefer soft tooth brush.
  • Scrape the tongue from the back forward. It removed the dead bacterias.
6. Gargling
  • Gargle twice daily to remove toxins and bacteria from mouth.
  • Ayurveda recommends to gargle with warm sesame oil.
7. Nasya
  • Put 2-3 drops of warm oil or warm ghee into each nostril which helps in lubricating the nose, cleanses the sinuses and improves vision and mental health.
8. Oil Massage
  • Put and rub luke warm oil over the head & body. It nourishes the body and improves blood circulation.
9. Exercise [ Yoga and Pranayam]
  • Regular exercise improves circulation, gives strength. It improves digestion and helps in having sound sleep.
  • After yoga, do breathing exercises.
10. Bathing
  • Bathing is an integral part of Dincharya routine. It removes excess oil from the surface of one’s skin. It provides fresh energy to an individual for performing day’s task. It brings fresh energy to the body, clarity to the mind and holiness to your life.
11. Meditation
  • Meditation helps in cakming the nervous system. One should do meditation for atleast 15 minutes.
12. Health Meals
  • One should take a nutritious meals according to your agni [digestive fire].
